ADCBO is a non-profit making Community Based Organization registered under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development. It was originally formed to facilitate, coordinate and provide leadership to the less privileged and marginalized in society in Western Kenya on a 3 pillar platform: health, education, and sports. In order to realize this, ADCBO identified Kongoni Youth Empowerment and Resource Centre (KYERC) with the aim to equip and maximize use of the facility that was constructed to provide counseling and health services, ICT facilities, library and information services, performance and training facilities in sport, dance, music and performing arts. When ADCBO realized that the building was being used for other purposes than what it was meant for, we requested the management if we could partner with them to achieve this purpose. This idea was welcome considering that there are similar facilities all over Western Kenya but without such support.

Self Help Groups (SHG)

ADCBO is partnering with registered Self Help Groups to involve the local community in development from the grassroots. We have about 78 registered groups, each with an average of 20 members. They are currently involved with table banking but plans are underway to expand and modernize their activities like agriculture, goat and poultry faming among others.

ADCBO is committed to promote education, health care and sports for a healthy and wealthy community.

Our vision is to be a partner organization in the mobilization and provision of resources and services for rural development.

Our mission is to work with communities and help them to participate in the general development that will help them pull themselves out of poverty.

We are located at Youth Empowerment Centre – Kongoni, Likuyani – Kakamega County
